Current national position

Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 poore India par apply hota hai. Section 1(2) India ke bahar operate hone wali lekin India mein offered online money-gaming services ko bhi cover karta hai. Official Gazette commencement notification ne Act ko 1 May 2026 se in force kiya; Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Rules, 2026 bhi usi date se effective hain.

“Online money game” ka meaning

Act ke section 2(1)(g) mein fee, deposit ya doosra stake dekar monetary ya equivalent gain expect karne wale online game ko online money game kaha gaya hai, chahe game skill, chance ya dono par based ho. Defined e-sports is category se alag hain.
